在进行issue写作时，很多同学都会洋洋洒洒写很长，但分数仍然没有质的飞跃。其实，issue的写作最重要的不是观点是否新颖，例证是否完全具有说服力，而重要的是体现出你的逻辑思维能力，以及对于这个话题正反两方面的考量的认知。本期开始，我将连载一些我常用的issue段落构造方法，来分享一些issue写作心得。这些段落构造方法属于万能方法，并不针对于某一道题目。但是掌握了这些段落方法之后，相信大家在处理任何一道题目的时候都能更清晰地知道该从哪些角度思考落笔。

　　1、段落构造方法之自我假设检视法

　　在昨天的推送中，我们介绍了假设反驳法来构造段落：通过对对方推理过程中存在的假设进行分析和驳斥，我们可以写出一个完整的issue段落，同时也可以将在撰写argument中的一些技巧应用到issue中来。

　　今天的段落方法基于前两天的基础之上。第一天是我立自己，第二天是我破他，今天是我破我：攻击我们自己的reasoning过程。我称之为自我假设检视法。

　　既然假设反驳就是寻找推理的假设，那我们自己推理中的假设不也是可以进行驳斥的对象吗？通过对自己推理过程中假设的思考，我们实际上给阅卷人展示了：

　　（1） 我们是非常具有critical thinking的作者，我们不仅仅在审视我们别人的毛病，我们自己的毛病我们也不放过。

　　（2） 我们对于问题思考的深度。虽然我总体上认为这件事情可以，但是在论证过程中我也表达了我的concern。这就是issue写作要求中经常提到的to what degree you agree or disagree with this statement

　　2、段落结构

　　这种段落首先还是从立论的reasoning开始。然后我们再提炼出在这个推理过程中我们自己的假设，并进行批判，讨论假设什么时候可能是成立的，什么时候不成立即可，不成立可能带来哪些不良后果。

　　一个典型的段落结构为：

　　（1） 第一句亮出自己的理由。

　　（2） 两句话简要总结reasoning的过程+适度example

　　（3） 指出自己推理中的假设。

　　（4） 然后argument怎么写，这个issue就怎么写就行了。

　　3、示范段落

　　接下来，我通过一下几个小题来给大家示范一下这种段落的写法。

　　例题1:

　　Claim: In any field — business, politics, education, government — those in power should step down after five years.

　　Reason: The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership.

　　解题：更换领导的确是可以带来创新的。因为新领导意味着“新的思路”，“新的角度”，以及忽视循规蹈矩。但是，新领导能带来这些的前提是要找对这个人，这些新东西不是仅仅来了个“新”人就可以的，而是真正在思想上的“新”才可以。

　　范文：One obvious solution for an organization to revitalize is to change leaders. New leadership is a way to introduce new ideas and break the established but unfavorable conventions in the organization. New leaders can look at the functional and social structure with fresh eyes and offer fresh solutions to increase efficiency and productivity. However, it is essential to find the right leader for such a plan to be successful.（开始address刚才推理中的漏洞） For example, if the leader is selected from within the organization, particularly if that person has been cultivated by the former leader, he or she may conform to the existing traditions and may not even see possible alternatives. Alternately, handing control to someone outside the organization can also be unproductive if they have too little knowledge of the industry. Such a person may be completely at sea about what options will be successful within the parameters of the company’s facilities and market. While new leaders can bring about significant improvements, much care should be taken to select the best new talent for the position.

　　例题2：Governments should offer college and university education free of charge to all students.

　　政府是否应该给学生带来免费的教育呢？政府让更多的人受到教育肯定是会提升劳动力的素质。劳动力就意味着生产力，只有劳动者有着丰富的知识才能扩大生产，提升国家整体生活水平。但是，这个推理的假设是免费的教育能够带来劳动力素质的提升，亦即免费的教育得是高质量的教育。否则，只能是捞财害命。

　　范文：Governments can greatly contribute to their societies by offering higher education free of charge to all students. A well-educated workforce is better equipped to handle a variety of challenges, so that the country does not have to outsource for skilled foreign labor. Furthermore, there will be less discrimination based on income level. Of course, this claim is hinged on the assumption that the quality of education is high-quality and equal to all students（开始指出推理中的assumption). If the quality is not guaranteed and students do not acquire skills necessary to successfully compete in the workplace, their education is a wasted investment. Economic equality will also not be achieved if schools in poorer districts have more limited opportunities than those in wealthy areas. For the plan to be successful, the free higher education must be high quality and accessible to all.

　　以上就是我们今天介绍的自我假设检视法。总结起来，就是要找到自己推理逻辑中的假设，这个假设可以是前提假设（presuppoistion），也可以是推理中的假设（assumption），通过我们对于这些assumption的批判和分析，我们给读者展示出了非常强大的“自我批判”能力。
